All Students Will Continue Remote Learning

for the first 2 Weeks of Quarter 3

At West Early College our students’ health, safety, and educational development are our top priorities. As COVID 19 cases are continuously monitored in the Denver area Denver Public Schools has decided to begin Hybrid Learning for 2nd Semester (Quarter 3 & 4) in January. During Hybrid Learning some students will continue Remote Learning from home and some students, those who have selected In Person Learning, will return to the school building. If you would like to change your selection please contact the WEC Main Office @ 720-423-5370.

Middle School & High School Schedule

If you have opted for in person learning for yourself or your student, they will continue remote learning until Tuesday January 19th for Middle School students and Monday January 25th for High School students. To be clear students are NOT to return to the building until Jan. 18th – Middle School and Jan. 25th – High School.

West Early College is preparing for Hybrid Learning by slowly and intentionally welcoming in-person learning students back to the school building while continuing to support remote learning students without interruption. In-Person learning students will be at the school building ONLY on Monday and Tuesday until February 5th. On February 8th West Early College may increase in-person school days from 2 per week (Mon. & Tues.) to 4 per week (Mon. Tues.. Thurs. Fri.) depending on DPS and Denver health and safety guidelines. Communication related to increasing Hybrid Learning and In-Person opportunities will be made available as soon as possible. Quarter 3 Classes & Schedules

To find your Quarter 3 Hybrid class information like Courses, Google Meets, assignments, grades and annoucements, go to Schoology (click icon below). You will need to login using your DPS Student ID (Lunch #) and your birthdate as the password DDMMYYYY. In-Building students will be accessing the same learning materials as remote students on Schoology.

Wednesday Early Release – Support

Due to feedback from students, staff and families West Early College will adjust the Wednesday Bell Schedule beginning on Wednesday January 13th in order to provide whole class, individual, and idenpendent learning supports on a weekly basis. Wednesday is an Early Release Schedule. Student attendance is MANDATORY from 7:30-12:00. Staff will be available in GoogleMeets classrooms and offices for tutoring and support until 1:30. Students will be learning independently and have additional time to complete assignments, homeowork and assessments in an asyncronous format from 1:30-3:30. Students and families should use the Wednesday ‘Lab’ (7:30-8:00) and ‘Office Hours’ to connect with staff for 1:1 support.

As our school community prepares to return to the school building. The health and safety of our students, familes, staff and community members is our top priority. In order to protect ourselves and others, ALL WEC Students and Families who have chosen to participate in In Person Learning must complete the 2020-21 Return to School Commitments Contract. The WEC Health & Safety Expectations must be met by all WEC Community Members [Staff, Students, Families, Guardians and Community Partners].
